From generation to generation: a legacy of hospitality
Nestled in the heart of the Vikos-Aoos Geopark—a UNESCO cultural heritage site—Mikro Papigo 1700 Hotel & Spa stands as a living testament to tradition, history, and authentic Greek hospitality.
The hotel itself carries this prestigious legacy: its seven buildings date back to the 1700s, while the eighth—an architectural landmark—was originally constructed in the 16th century. This final structure holds special historical significance, as it was the very first guesthouse to open in Zagori in 1973, founded by the family’s ancestors, Elisavet Exarchou and Theocharis Kapellos.
These historic buildings form a neighborhood reborn. The original structural identity has been respectfully revived, with architectural restoration carried out in absolute harmony with local tradition. Inside, an avant-garde design language breathes new life into the spaces—a deeply personal and expressive choice. There’s a story in every stone, every corner; this place has soul, a heartbeat—it lives and breathes. It is not a hotel in the conventional sense. Our very DNA sets us apart. A cellular departure from the obvious and the ordinary.
At the same time, the sustainable service strategy of Mikro Papigo 1700 is a key factor in its success—not only because its qualities are authentic, reliable, and environmentally conscious, but because they offer true differentiation. This uniqueness lies in the perception that our offerings are more meaningful and irreplaceable in the eyes of our guests. Personality, deeply rooted experiences, and one-of-a-kind human connections cannot be replicated.
